On behalf of GIDESK, we extend warm wishes and congratulations to all Tanzanians as we commemorate Sabasaba Day—a national celebration of trade, innovation, and socioeconomic development.
This year, GIDESK takes this opportunity to emphasize the critical importance of protecting the rights of girls and young women by standing firmly against all forms of gender-based violence. We believe that true development cannot be achieved without creating a safe and equitable environment for everyone—especially for girls and women, who are often disproportionately affected by systemic and silent abuse.
We call upon communities to:
- Educate and raise awareness on gender-based violence
- Strengthen support systems for survivors
- Promote policies and programs that safeguard the dignity and rights of every woman and girl
GIDESK stands in solidarity with women and youth in building a safe, inclusive, and just society for all.
