Educational Series on Gender-Based Violence (GBV): Introduction
Gender-based violence (GBV) refers to any harmful act perpetrated against a person based on socially ascribed gender differences between males and females. It includes acts that cause physical, sexual, or mental harm or suffering; threats of such acts; and other forms of deprivation of liberty.
